BUSINESS AND PHILANTHROPY HAND IN HAND.

Committed to giving back to the communities he finds himself in, Mark Weingard extended Inspirasia’s support to Malta shortly after he relocated there in 2012. The foundation has organised and contributed towards a number of philanthropic events and initiatives there over the years.

In 2016, Inspirasia Foundation joined forces with The Gasan Foundation to launch the Malta Social Impact Awards, which provided opportunities for local changemakers to receive financial and non-financial support to develop an initiative that has a positive social impact on Malta.  This has now evolved into a TV programme called Changemakers.

Inspirasia Foundation is also one of the founding members of the Academy of Givers, which was launched in 2021 to bridge the gap between philanthropists, businesses and social and environmental organisations by bringing like-minded people together to learn, share, be recognised and inspired.

Operations in Malta are carried out through Inspirasia Foundation Malta, a registered Voluntary Organisation (V0/1299).

CURRENT INITIATIVES IN MALTA

Academy of Givers

Launched by Inspirasia Foundation, Gasan Foundation and Nathan Farrugia, the Academy of Givers is the first of its kind in Malta, dedicated to making a real difference by providing a platform for like-minded people to come together, to learn and be inspired. The Academy of Givers aims to improve philanthropic and CSR efforts in Malta, by changing mindsets and the giving environment through legislative change.

Changemakers

Changemakers is a new TV show in which individuals and social purpose organisations could be awarded funding, mentoring and other support to develop an initiative that positively impacts Malta. Participants pitch their initiatives in front of a panel of judges and the shortlisted ones then go through a mentoring programme before pitching during the final programme on TV for the chance to be awarded funding. The 1st edition was broadcast in 2022, during which a total of Eur135,000 was awarded.

Inspirational Events

Since 2015, Inspirasia Foundation, in collaboration with Iniala Giving, has organised a number of philanthropic and charitable events in Malta. These include forums that explored high impact giving, as well as gastronomic charity events, such as ‘Esenzi at the Palace’, which raised €100,000 for the Malta Community Chest Fund, as well as other annual fundraising dinners which are sponsored by Iniala and held at the restaurants ION Harbour in aid of different charities in Malta.
