Inspirational evening held at Annika Linden Centre in Bali

Design Hotels and Iniala Beach House have collaborated with the Annika Linden Centre and Inspirasia Foundation to hold an Inspirational Evening in Bali. The event, which was held on the 13th of November, aimed to inspire businesses to have purpose within their organisation and to give back to society. Various businesses that were attending a Further East Travel Show in Bali were invited to the Annika Linden Centre for an inspiring, informative and entertaining evening. The Centre is a hub for excellence for social entrepreneurship, non-profit work and philanthropy, while also housing four of the organisations supported by Inspirasia Foundation. Guests met with, and learnt about, these different organisations and were also given a tour of the Centre, including PUSPASI Bali’s prosthetic and orthotic workshop. One of PUSPADI’s clients, who is a wheelchair user, mesmerised the crowd with a traditional Balinese dance performance. Guests also enjoyed a lovely al fresco meal while YPK Bali’s musical band, all children with disabilities, gave a lively performance.

Iniala and Inspirasia’s founder Mark Weingard was present at the event and shared some inspiring words on the importance of purpose, philanthropy and giving back. Mark Weingard is an ardent philanthropist and launched Inspirasia Foundation in 2002 after losing his fiancée, Annika Linden, in the Bali bombings. Over the years, the foundation has grown and has given over 12million dollars in funding to different organisations and initiatives mostly in Bali, India, Thailand and Malta.

Iniala Beach House, who joined Design Hotels earlier this year, has donated 10% of all revenue and 5% of all other revenue to Inspirasia Foundation since the hotel’s opening in 2013. In addition to this, the hotel has a strong Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, regularly organising  CSR activities such as beach clean ups and activity days for local orphans.

Iniala Harbour House, which is set to open in Malta next year, will continue with Iniala’s commitment to philanthropy and giving back to society.
