Pak Nada’s Modified Static Bicycle for Home Training

Pak Nada, a stroke survivor, is creatively finding ways to keep active by doing physical training while staying home during this pandemic. Unable to travel to our grantee YPK Bali for his rehabilitation, Pak Nada, with the help of his family, was finally able to get a modified bike to practice his motor skills at home every day. Using a recycled bike and a few pieces of wood from the surrounding area, the family built a static bicycle for Pak Nada’s home exercise.

Through YPK’s online consultation program, YPK’s physiotherapists help Pak Nada to train his muscles and motor skills over video calls and messages. Although YPK’s mobile clinic team - who used to go to Pak Nada’s village to provide physiotherapy - were unable to travel there, the online support has helped him to stay on track with his rehabilitation program. Endless support from the family is crucial to ensure home rehabilitation can be done successfully.  Keep up the good work Pak Nada!

Inspirasia Foundation has been supporting YPK for the past 10 years. With this support, YPK has been able to increase its clients from under 400 to over 25,000.
