The YPK Bali Mobile Clinic Physiotherapy Team goes to Banyuwangi

At the end of July, YPK Bali provided rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities in Banyuwangi, East Java. This trip was a valuable opportunity for YPK to carry out humanitarian tasks to people with disabilities who are outside Bali.

This service was held at SLB YKPTI Banyuwangi. During these four days, more than 50 people with disabilities received physiotherapy services, especially initial assessments.

From interviews and observations, it resulted that the important thing to do is to scale up community awareness on rehabilitation and preventive assessments for people with disabilities. Furthermore, the facilities to support regular affordable therapy services in this regency are still difficult to find.

“It is so sad, that people with moderate disabilities do not have any treatment and therapy. There is no regular training, so their condition gets worse”, said Yuki, YPK Bali Physiotherapist.

YPK Bali hopes this visit is a good start for YPK Bali to develop its services and carry out humanitarian missions in other areas
